Major Projects and Expert Witness Services

Continuplan has extensive experience of managing major and contentious minerals, waste and renewable energy projects. This includes work on the Whitehaven metallurgical coal mine proposal, the extension of the Low Level Waste Repository at Drigg and a low-carbon energy and waste-processing facility at Portland.

Adrian Lynham also has extensive experience as a planning expert witness at public inquiry and in planning-related legal proceedings.

Planning Applications and Environmental Impact Assessment

Continuplan provides professional support with the preparation, submission and management of planning applications of all scales.

We also advise on Environmental Impact Assessment screening and scoping and the preparation, coordination and review of Environmental Statements and supporting technical documentation.

Interim Planning Support

Continuplan can provide short- and medium-term support for individual projects, existing caseloads or temporary gaps in capacity. This service is available to clients in both the public and private sectors. 

Mineral Resource Assessments

Continuplan prepares Mineral Resource Assessments for non-mineral development, particularly housing, where the proposed development could sterilise mineral resources.

We use a proportionate, staged approach beginning with a desk-based assessment and site visit. This can establish whether the safeguarding issue can be resolved at an early stage or whether further investigation is required.
